Tim Eldridge was a three-sport athlete at Simsbury High School from 1990-1994. He played on the varsity football, basketball, and lacrosse teams, eventually becoming a three-sport captain his senior year. Between 1991 and 1993, the Trojans compiled an outstanding record of 27-5, won three consecutive conference championships, and ended the run by advancing to the 1993 State Final. During his junior season, Tim started as a running back and defensive back, as well as on kick return. He broke the school's single season rushing record for yards and touchdowns. Those accomplishments earned him All-State honors as a running back as well as All Conference honors for his defensive contributions. As a senior, Tim broke his own single season records for rushing yards and touchdowns. For the second year in a row, he became an All-State running back while also being recognized as an All-State defensive back. He finished his football career with over 3,600 yards rushing and 50 touchdowns, breaking the previous school records in both categories. Tim was a guard and forward on basketball teams that had multiple winning seasons and state tournament appearances. He was selected as a team captain both his junior and senior season and received All Conference honors his senior year. Tim additionally played midfielder for the lacrosse team. In his junior season, he earned All Conference and All Northern Connecticut honors. During his senior season, the Trojans won a conference championship and reached the state semi-finals after beating defending state champ New Canaan in the quarterfinals. Tim earned All Conference and All Northern Connecticut honors for a second consecutive year. After graduating from SHS in 1994, Tim played lacrosse at Penn State University. During his four years, the team had an overall record of 35-15, and three times the team finished the season ranked in the top 15 nationally. Tim was a team captain his senior season, finishing his career with 17 goals and 16 assists and playing in 49 of 50 games. Tim now lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, with his wife Meg and daughters Kate (6) and Lane (4).
